About Community Health Solutions

Community Health Solutions is dedicated to equipping people for excellence in health improvement.  For more than ten years we have been helping people from all kinds of  organizations build their capacity in research, leadership, strategy, programming, quality improvement, and community engagement.

Our Vision

At Community Health Solutions we view health improvement as one of the most important issues of our time.  Virtually everyone agrees we are facing unsustainable levels of health spending.  But the numbers show we cannot solve this problem just by attempting to control the cost of health care services.  We must also improve our health behaviors and health environments in order to optimize our health and reduce consumption of health services for preventable conditions. 

Seen in this context, community health is truly everyone's business.  Health care and public health are critical components of the solution, but these two sectors cannot do it alone. We also need involvement from business, government, nonprofits, philanthropies, schools, social services, child care, parks and recreation, public safety, faith communities, and economic development organizations.  All of these stakeholders are needed to create communities where neighborhoods are safe, schools are excellent, economic development is strong, and community institutions promote good health.

Our Purpose

We created Community Health Solutions to elevate health improvement as a civic concern and as a practical art and science.  It is not an easy thing to create healthier institutions and communities.  It takes focused research, strong leadership, intelligent strategy, sound programming, a commitment to quality improvement, proactive community education, and perhaps above all, smart collaboration.  We help people from all kinds of organizations develop these capacities so they can do a better job of achieving their chosen mission in health improvement.  

Our Values

At Community Health Solutions we have certain distinguishing values which we bring to our work.  We value our clients not only as customers, but also partners who often teach us more than we teach them.  We also value sustainable excellence.  We are not happy if a client's performance drops after we leave the scene.  We want our clients to be able to sustain excellence long after their engagement with us.

We also value innovation and collaboration.  Many of our clients are small organizations who deserve the very best in capacity building support, but generally cannot afford traditional consulting and training fees.  We developed our Smart Collaboration solution to deliver high quality knowledge, tools, data, training, coaching, and networking opportunities to organizations of all sizes and budgets.  We are proud of this pioneering work.  

Our People

Our team of senior principals have been at this a long time.  All bring graduate level training plus more than 20 years of experience to the job.   We know that trust, respect, loyalty, and commitment are the true keys to sustaining client relationships.  We hold all of our junior team members and contracted associates to the very same standards.
